Asian markets have a dismal day

The Asian markets succumbed to selling pressure to end on the lower side. - Markets still languish in red - Sensex exhibit weakness - Wockhardt advances on getting US FDA nod - Bilcare gains on GDR issue - Strides Arcolab soars on Pfizer deal - M&M slips on plans of aviation extention The Hang Seng ended at 22,269, weaker by 147 points and the Nikkei slipped 49 points to 10,681. The Taiwan Weighted dropped 90 points to 8,237, Straits Times shed 15 points at 2,914 and Seoul Composite lost 21 points at 1,683. __________________________________________________________________________ (Updated at 0809 am) Asian markets are in subdued this morning. The Hang Seng has slipped 21 points to 22,395. The Nikkei has added seven points to 10,738. On the other hand, the Taiwan Weighted has dropped 17 points to 8,310. The Straits Times is down four points at 2,926.
